Incendio 1974 -- Complete
A brutal documentary account detailing the infamous Sao Paolo high rise fire of February 1, 1974. With strange 1970’s era electronic music soundtrack, shocking photojournalistic footage, iconic animation, and a deadpan narration, the film deconstructs the deadly conflagration and what went wrong.
Warning: Some of the footage may be disturbing to some viewers.

I´m brazilian and I live in Sao Paulo. I wasn´t born at that time, but I´ve always heard about this terrible incident. This movie really makes me imagine and feel the horror that people passed that morning. It is said that this was the worse incident in Sao Paulo ever and now I know why. Scary and impressive.
i remember seeing this film in the late 1970's. of course the most memorable images were of the people falling to their deaths. it has been thirty years since viewing INCENDIO, and this time i had the opportunity to learn the details about this tragedy. the deadpan narration and music really accentuate the horror of this event in a prime example of what a documentary should be. educational and thought provoking thru emotion.
Just so you know before you watch, there is one brief shot of a few dead bodies, and distant shots of people jumping, but the shocking moment is a brief shot of a guy's crushed open skull after he jumped and hit the pavement to escape the fire. It's a brief shot though, not gratuitous. I agree this is a very effective film.
